Why an EV accessory site

He drives a Tesla Model Y, which is where this started. Shopping for the car turned up the same problem every time: listings that claim to fit "Model Y" without saying which generation, refreshes that quietly break compatibility, and roundups that rank whatever pays best. The fitment traps this site keeps flagging — Highland versus pre-refresh, Juniper versus 2021-2025, 5-seat versus the seven-seat Model Y L — are the ones he has had to work through as an owner.

By trade he's a software engineer, and that shapes the method more than the subject matter. The site is built the way he'd approach any specification problem: read the actual spec rather than the marketing, separate what a vendor asserts from what can be verified, record the data with a date attached, and be explicit about what isn't known. It's also why ChargedMods runs on a codebase he maintains himself rather than a template — it's on GitHub, where he is listed as Xiujun Ma.

Worth stating plainly, since this is a site that removed its own unsupported claims: owning a Model Y means first-hand experience with the car and the fitment problems around it. It does not mean the products in these guides have been physically tested — they haven't, and the guides say so.

How he works

Every guide is research-based rather than hands-on: manufacturer specifications, listing details, fitment data down to the model year and trim, and current pricing. Claims that come from a seller are attributed to that seller instead of being repeated as fact, prices are published with the date they were recorded, and products that don't earn a place are left out rather than padded in.
